When I try to print from my Android phone or tablet, I get the message ” This printer is currently unavailable “. Check your network connection and resolve any HP printer setup issues.

How to get HP Printer Setup on Android smartphones / Tablets

In order to get access or HP printer setup on android or tablets devices. Let’s follow Some steps:

Step 1: Restart your printer, router and mobile device

To clear the error condition on a particular network / hardware, restart the printer, Wi-Fi router, and phone / tablet. After rebooting each device, check if the printer is available.

  1. Turn the printer off and then on again.
  2. Disconnect the power cable from the router, wait 10 seconds, reconnect the cable, and wait for the Internet connection to complete.
  3. Turn the phone or tablet off and then on again.

If the error is still apparent to you, go to the next stage.

Step 2: Check network connection

Make sure the printer and your Android device are connected to the same local Wi-Fi network and check for network-related issues.

  1. Make sure Wi-Fi is turned on on your Android device and the status of your local wireless network is Connected .
    • If you are connected to another network, tap the name of your local network to connect.
      SUPPLEMENT: If you need your network name (SSID) and password, see Finding Your Wireless Password .
    • If you cannot connect to your local network, or if the signal is weak , move closer to your router. Also, metal objects, walls, and electronic devices that emit radio signals can interfere with Wi-Fi signals.
    • If your local network is not available , consider using the Wi-Fi Direct printing option. For more information, go to Use an alternate printing method .
  2. Check the network connection status.
    • Printers with a touch screen control panel : Touch the wireless icon or open the Network Settings or Setup menu to view the network connection status.
    • Touch-screen control panel not equipped with a printer : [radio] button and the [information] or press the button at the same time, [wireless] button and – [copy start Monochrome] and press the button at the same time. The Wireless Test Report prints the network connection status.
  3. Depending on the connection status, do the following:
    • If the printer is connected to the network, it will print. If the error persists, go to the steps to check the print settings on your Android device.
    • If the printer is not connected to the network, proceed to the next step.
  4. Move the printer closer to the router and then connect to the network.
    SUPPLEMENT: Many routers support both 2.4GHz and 5.0GHz frequency bands, but not all HP printers setup support both frequency bands. Make sure the 2.4GHz frequency band is enabled and broadcasting. If your router is broadcasting a separate network name (SSID) for each frequency band, connect the printer to the SSID in the 2.4 GHz frequency band.
    • Printers with a touch screen control panel : Open the printer’s Setup , Network , or Wireless menu and select the Wireless Setup Wizard to connect the printer to your network.
      SUPPLEMENT: If you need your network name (SSID) and password, see Finding Your Wireless Password .
    • Printers without a touch screen control panel : Press and hold the wireless button for 5 seconds. Within 2 minutes, press and hold the router’s WPS button (Wi-Fi Protected Setup) until the connection process begins. The blinking wireless light on the printer will disappear when the connection is complete.

If the error is still apparent to you, go to the next stage.

Step 3: Check print settings and status on your Android device

Make sure printing is enabled and erase the contents of the print spooler.

  1. On your Android device, tap Settings , tap Connected Devices or Connect , then tap Print .
  2. Make sure that HP Print Service is listed and the status is On . If you don’t see the service in the list, tap Add Service to install it.
  3. Return to [Settings], [app] or [application] and choose.
  4. From the Other menu , select View System Apps .
  5. Select Print Spooler . Alternatively, tap Storage and pick Print Spooler . .
  6. Tap [ Clear data] or [Force stop] .
  7. Reboot the device.

If the error is still apparent to you, go to the next stage.

Step 4: Try an alternative printing method

Go to 123.hp.com and install the HP Smart app. Follow the setting procedure to connect and use the printer.

If the printer connection fails over your local wireless network , continue with this step to set up a Wi-Fi Direct printer connection to your Android device.

  1. Obtain the Wi-Fi Direct password for the printer.
    • Printers with a touch screen control panel : Tap the Wi-Fi Direct icon or go to the Wi-Fi Direct menu.
    • Touch-screen control panel not equipped with a printer : [Information] (information) button Press to print the information page. Look for your password in the Wi-Fi Direct section of the page.
  2. Tap the plus sign in the HP Smart app . .
  3. Tap Looking for Wi-Fi Direct Printers ? , then tap the printer name.
  4. Tap Connect to the printer and enter your password when prompted.
  5. Wait to complete the connection (approximately 10 seconds).. If you don’t see the printer, tap the plus sign again to select the printer.
  6. On the home screen, tap the Print tile to print from your device, social media account, or cloud storage service.
  7. To disconnect from the printer, open your Android Wi-Fi settings and connect to your local network
